Building the Pole Barn!

The pole barn project has been very anticipated by our family! The Farm equipment seems to continue to grow… and we are needing the space to store everything! The project started months ago and all summer we have anticipated when the builder would be able to fit us into their busy schedule!

My husband and father in law found the company, Pioneer Pole Building, and they have started building this week. Before the building could start, the site work had to be done.

Supplies was dropped off and the footings poured.

The dimensions of the barn are 72×50

The siding color for the barn chose is called Slate.

The barn went up within the week and I’m certain would have been even faster but there was some rain the week of the build. Their team was obviously quite efficient and worked together very methodically! We would drive over and watch the progress and see what was finished at the end of the day. Plans for the space include storage for farm equipment and space for retail to sell products from the farm! Next step is the concrete flooring!

When I was growing up, any door that was left open to the outdoors was encouraged to be closed with a “were you raised in a barn?!” question/statement from a parent, most often my mother. And here we have a large barn with no doors (waiting for delivery)… so while I wasn’t raised in a barn, we have left the door open for now!
